Cabo Update

Filed under: General News — scionblog @ 11:03 am

After an eventful day in Todos Santos we decided to kick back and relax during the day starting out with a leisurely stroll to eat breakfast at the central restaurant under the arch overlooking the Sea of Cortez. A three piece orchastra was playing classical music with a harp, bass and violin…very soothing. We then headed out for a walk and to a spa appointment for a much needed massage to cure the aches and pains of old age and lot pounding at the dealership.Ha! The rest of the day was spent reading and talking with other guest around the pool and yes tequilla was involved! The hotel hosts many games and activities at the pools most of which include the famous Mexican water Tequilla. For the evening we headed off to San Jose Del Cabo to visit some friends and eat at our favorite restaurant the Tropicana.

Let us talk about the Tropicana. Architechtually and decoratively this is the most warm and stunning property I have ever seen. We were greeted with open arms and treated to the phenominal service of the wait staff. They just sweep you in and flourish about like worker bees in a syncronized dance. Each has his own purpose but all work together seemlessly pulling out chairs, laying out knapkins on your lap, presenting the menu, bringing drinks and offering the days specials. If you threw a dart at this menu blind folded you could not pick an entree, appetizer or dessert that did not look like it came from a magazine and tasted exquisitly. Right down to the excellent Mariachi band, the linens, the decor, lavish candles, stone work, ornate wood beams, wrought iron, and angelic paintings surrounding the dining room this place is enthralling. I have traveled to many places but this restaurant tops them all. So when in Cabo, make it a point to eat at the Tropicana. Bring friends and tell them Scionpro sent you.

After dinner we headed off to do some shopping at Miquiztli Fine Art owned by our friend Rogelio just across the street from the Tropicana tucked into a short alley way. As usual we found some nice pieces to decorate our home with at this fine shop. Rogelio carries art and sculptures both large and small and will ship anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. So don’t be shy if you find a large piece buy it! he will carefully pack it and ship it to your front door. Business must be goo because he is opening a larger galleria next door! Good luck Rogelio!
